OLIVE OIL

Homer called it "liquid gold."

 In ancient Greece, athletes ritually rubbed it all over their bodies.
Olive oil has been more than mere food to the peoples of the Mediterranean: it has been medicinal, magical, an endless source of fascination and wonder and the fountain of great wealth and power. Indeed the importance of the olive industry in ancient economies cannot be overstated. The tree is extremely hardy and its useful lifespan can be measured in centuries.

OUR OWN olive oil is just that ...our own the trees are lovingly tended to all year long..by my father in law.
Our trees are located in a little village outside of Sparti or Sparta if you prefer.
In late November early December we make our fun trip with friends and family.
We pick olives we tour parts of the Peloponnese ..

We are very proud of our oil as we do not use any chemicals
We have had a  very low toxicity in the few years ...
the local press wanted to buy it all from us.
(
.Honestly if we went to the trouble we could get the organic qualification but sometimes arguing with elders is just not worth it!)
There is always a limited supply - Father in law makes sure he and family secure the annual supply;
Then I pester him to allow me to sell some;
I had inspirations of importing and competing with the market.
It turns out that having a "real" job as is necessary these days it was too much fora the amount of oil that we have available.
We do sell at some church festivals a local health store..AND OF COURSE on line
AND That is how greekspicegirl came about
